Rohit Karan Sawhney
Rohit joined the Fitch Group in 2017 as Managing Director & CEO of India Ratings & Research Ltd. Rohit is also a member of The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) National Committee on Financial Markets and a member of the CII National Committee for Total Cost Management (TCM).
Rohit has almost 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Rohit joined India Ratings from The Royal Bank of Scotland where he was most recently the Managing Director & Regional Head of Global Transaction Services, Asia Pacific. Prior to The Royal Bank of Scotland, Rohit also worked at ABN AMRO Bank and ANZ Grindlays Bank in various roles across client segments, sectors advisory, branch management, products & business risk.
Rohit holds a B.A. (Honours) Economics and a M.A. Economics from The University of Delhi, India.
James McCormack is the Managing Director and global head of sovereign and supranational ratings, based in Hong Kong.
James re-joined Fitch in October 2013 from the Bank of Canada, where he held a senior credit role. Prior to this, James spent three years with Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong, where he was an Executive Director in credit risk management and advisory. James joined Goldman Sachs in 2010 from Fitch, where he held various senior roles in the Sovereign Ratings Group, including Head of the Asia-Pacific Sovereign team.
Prior to joining Fitch, James was a country risk analyst for Export Development Canada, and an economist for the Department of Foreign Affairs in Ottawa. James began his career as an economist at Wharton Econometrics (WEFA) Canada.
James earned a B.A. in economics from York University (Canada), and an M.A. in international economics from the University of Toronto.
Kwong Li is Head of Greater China and Head of Business Operation, Asia-Pacific.
In November 2008, Kwong was appointed Head of Fitch China and CEO of Lianhe (a Sino-UK JV owned by Fitch) where he looked after both Fitch’s on-shore and off-shore businesses in China. In August 2014, Kwong was appointed Head of Business Operations, Asia Pacific where he looked after all of Fitch’s operations in Asia Pacific. At the same time, Kwong was promoted to Head of Greater China which included China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Kwong has over 28 years of experience in the financial services industries. Kwong holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University. Kwong also received his M.B.A. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
Robert Pavrey is a Fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India since 1989. He launched his independent practice under the name Robert Pavrey & Associates in November 1991.
He holds a Masters degree in Commerce and LL.B. (G) from Mumbai University. He has been associated with leading corporate houses for the past three decades.
His areas of expertise include Company Law, Foreign Exchange Regulations and Securities Laws. Mr. Pavrey is a regular speaker at various fora on corporate laws.
Naval Bir Kumar
Mr. Naval Bir Kumar has over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector, as an Investment Banker with ANZ Investment Bank, CEO of Standard Chartered/IDFC Mutual Fund and as Head of Consumer Banking at IDFC Bank. He spent 8 years with the IDFC Group, during which time he continued to build the Asset Management business acquired from Standard Chartered to scale and profitability. He also headed the Treasury business for a few years and was part of the team that successfully worked on the banking license application. In his last job as Head Consumer Banking of IDFC Bank, Naval conceptualized and launched a “re-imagined” consumer banking business model with a focus on customer solutions, service and a differentiated value proposition.
Mr. Abraham Chacko has four decades of experience in banking across various markets, namely- India, Middle East, Africa and Asia. In his last full time role as the Executive Director of The Federal Bank Ltd in India, he was the second in command and oversaw the wholesale banking business, SME, Agriculture and Financial Institutions. Prior to Federal Bank he spent 18 years in various countries with ABN AMRO Bank.He was Deputy CEO UAE covering various countries in the Middle East between 1992 and 1999. Thereafter he moved to Colombo as CEO Sri Lanka and then to Singapore in 2001 as Regional Head-Trade Sales for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa and later covered Cash Management Sales for Asia too. He started his career as a Management Trainee with HSBC India where he spent 14 years in various roles.
He grew up in Kolkata and did his graduation from St Xavier College and has an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur. He is a Singapore citizen.
